Microsoft Announces Deprecation of the Dynamics 365 Outlook Com Add-in
We all knew sooner or later this was coming. Recently, Microsoft announced the deprecation of the Dynamics365 Outlook Com Add-in. Customers should make the move prior to October 1, 2020. Microsoft will continue to provide support, security and other critical updates to the Outlook COM Add-in until October 1, 2020.
All support for the old integration will end completely on October 1, 2020. It is recommended that all organizations take advantage of the many benefits of Dynamics 365 App for Outlook and upgrade at their earliest convenience. So for users that have been putting off upgrading from the old Outlook Com Add-in, now is the time! To learn more about the benefits the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook, visit our Increase Productivity with the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook blog or view our January webinar. For more information download the presentation.
The modern app is built on the Unified Interface, which uses responsive web design – providing the user with an optimal viewing experience regardless of device they are on. As of October 1,2020 the Unified Interface will be the only client interface across all Dynamics 365 apps. In September 2019, Microsoft announced the deprecation of the legacy web client for Dynamics 365 Online. The legacy web client will no longer be available as of October 1, 2020. The Unified Interface is now the default interface for the Dynamics App for Outlook, the Dynamics mobile app, and for all new Dynamics 365 apps moving forward. Microsoft has tried to give us sufficient time to transition to the Unified Interface, but if you have not already taken the plunge into the UI, check out our blog for some suggestions on planning your transition to the UI. In addition, we also have a blog about embracing the Unified Interface and a webinar titled Don’t Be afraid of the Unified Interface. Watch the recording of the webinar or download the presentation.
